BBB Serving Central
East Texas will formally launch a new local charity review program in 2013. This new program is designed to help
businesses and consumers within our nineteen (19) county service area to give
more confidently and respond more effectively to requests for local charitable
contributions. Designed to provide a way for donors at all levels to make wise
giving decisions, this program also provides charitable organizations with a
means to establish their accountability to donors and potential donors by
adhering to the voluntary BBB standards.

of the Wise Giving Alliance will be a central source for information on
charitable organizations that are soliciting individuals and businesses in our
area. BBB has long provided this information on nationally soliciting
charities, but the increasing prominence of community-based charities has
prompted us to expand our service to include reports on local organizations.
giving continues to increase throughout the nation (up 7.5% in 2011), the BBB Wise
Giving program will play a key role in fulfilling BBB’s mission of providing
consumers with information to make educated decisions about businesses, brands,
and charities they can trust.
BBB will formally introduce this program on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. We
hope your company will partner with BBB by agreeing to
assist in underwriting the preliminary expenses associated with this important
program. Your tax-deductible contribution of $500-$5,000 will go directly to cover
the costs of staffing, training and other resources needed in producing the
reviews. Your company will also be listed in our annual local Wise Giving Guide and other publications as a sponsor of the program.
